    We use this sour cream hack on tacos, chicken wraps, breakfast burritos, and of course one of our favorites, the Crunchwrap Supreme.

    It's tangy, it's creamy, and it's lower-calorie and higher in protein than sour cream. If you're like us and you dread reading the nutrition labels on your favorite sauces, you can feel good about this guilt-free choice.

    Ingredients

    High protein sour cream ingredients: Greek yogurt, cumin, lime juice.
    • Non-fat Greek yogurt
    • Lime juice or lemon juice
    • Cumin
    • Salt

    Combine all spices into a small bowl or serving dish.

    Substitutions

    • Gluten free gluten-free substitute icon - No modifications needed. Unflavored Greek yogurt is naturally gluten free. Ensure your cumin is gluten-free.
    • Vegan Vegan icon - Use a plant based Greek yogurt, try to find a Greek yogurt for the thicker texture, that will be closer to sour cream. Check out these plant-based Greek yogurt options if you are looking for a new go-to brand.

    Variations

    • Extra creamy - Add ¼ cup low-fat mayonnaise to make this extra creamy with only a few extra calories. We use this creamy version on our breakfast burritos.
    • Spicy - Add ½ teaspoon of pepper or chili powder to give this sauce a punch. Add in spice ½ teaspoon at a time until you reach your limit!
    Adding Crunchwrap filling to a taco shell, add in quarter sections starting from the bottom right: lettuce, tomato then chips, then beef, then cheese. Top beef with the sour cream.

    Storage

    Make Ahead - Store in an airtight container or squeeze bottle in the fridge for up to 5 days.

    Freeze - You can freeze extra sauce in an airtight container for up to 2 months, but it's so easy we recommend just making fresh batches.

    Top tip

    Make this your own by adding mayo for a creamier texture or spice if you like a bit of heat.
