Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon oregano

Instructions 

  • Add all of the taco seasoning ingredients in a small bowl. Mix until combined. Store homemade taco seasoning in an airtight container for up to 6 months.

  • Add to 1 pound (lb) of browned ground beef, or other meat. Add ¼ cup of water to the meat and seasoning and let it simmer for a few minutes. Add more water, ¼ cup at a time, until the meat reaches your desired consistency.

Notes

Make it spicy - Mix in cayenne pepper ¼ teaspoon or chili powder ½ teaspoon at a time to the spice mix to raise the heat level. Cayenne pepper really dials the heat up. Use whatever spice you prefer. You can also add red pepper flakes to add to the heat.
